RAI (Radiotelevisione Italiana) interviews BRESOV researchers from the project partner Research Centre of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (CREA) on TG1-Economy, a section of the Italian news broadcasting dedicated to outcoming projects and discoveries and their impact on society and economy. The objectives of BRESOV project are explained, highlighting the impact of the ongoing genetic improvement activities toward the development of new high-quality vegetable crop varieties able to resistant to pathogens and adapted to climate change. Pasquale Tripodi from CREA illustrates the results of genomic studies for the identification of new genetic variants responsible for long shelf life and drought tolerance characteristics in the tomato "da serbo ”.
